My Jon Snow cosplay has been in the making since 2012. Since my first iteration of my Jon Snow cosplay at New York Comic-Con 2012 as Night's Watch Jon Snow, I have been cosplaying ever since. Every time a new convention came I wanted to improve on the Jon Snow costume every year. With each convention came some type of improvement to the Jon Snow costume.
Eventually it became an objective to outdo the previous year's version of the Jon Snow costume. I wanted to just make one thing a bit better every time. It could have been the armor, or the cloak, or the fur, or anything. But the important thing to me was that the Jon Snow costume kept on improving.
Right now due to the outfit of the show's previous season I am using that outfit exclusively during conventions until a new costume is shown in the show. Admittedly it is my favorite version.
While I do other cosplays such as Trunks from Dragon Ball and Anakin Skywalker, my Jon Snow costume will always be my favorite. I can't really tell if it's because it was the first cosplay I got into and what then turned me towards cosplay, or if it is because of how much of a fandom I have for Game of Thrones currently.
There are times when the challenge of doing some parts of the Jon Snow costume has gotten tedious and time-consuming. Especially with all of those squares in the updated outfit. But once everything is all said and done, and the cosplay is finished, you can look at your cosplay with pride.
I have worked very hard on the Jon Snow costume, with the help of Xasha and my mother. The three of us have become quite a cosplay team. I am proud of the work we have done and that is the purpose of this page. The purpose of this page is to show what hard work on a cosplay can lead to some amazing results. Hopefully this will inspire anyone else who had any thoughts about making a cosplay.
What this website is showing how a couple of people who want to make the best Jon Snow costume and Game of Thrones cosplay in general that they can. Like any cosplayer will understand, making a cosplay is not an easy, and at times frustrating, task. But the end result makes it so rewarding. This cosplay is my favorite and will try every time I can to make it better or will change it and update it whenever it happens on Game of Thrones.
When it comes to doing this cosplay you must be ready to work hard. You must be ready to be able to get frustrated and keep pushing through that frustration.
There were many times when Xasha and I, or my mother would get really flustered or stuck on a situation or sometimes realize that we will be spending lots of hours on one part of the Jon Snow costume, but it is in those moments that you realize what you are capable of.
It's always about the fruits of your labor, and it is a very good feeling when people come up to you at conventions and tell you that your Jon Snow costume, or your Daenerys costume, or your Iron Man costume.
